Each Thursday Graham collected a small group of international students from the train station, took them to the Mangemangeroa Reserve (Papaptoetoe to Howick) where he had identified specific weeds. He supervised these students doing weed eradication work paying special attention to seed sources. This work amounted to in excess of 180 man-hours.
These students were sponsored as a contribution to the community by The National Technology Consortium, P.O. Box 911 312, Victoria St West, Auckland.
It is not just the thoroughness of the undertaking but the enthusiasm with which Graham set about this task for which he is applauded. Students volunteered to come back and work unpaid!
