The Brook Sanctuary is a community driven conservation project on Nelson City Council land that seeks to restore the upper catchment of the Brook stream to as close as possible to its pre human condition. Thousands of hours have gone into clearing weeds from the sanctuary, through a fortnightly working bee and hours of thorough working by small groups and individuals on their own 'patch'. The Forest Regeneration – Weed Control Team has had massive input from many individuals and we would like to give them the recognition they deserve.
