"The school has worked for the last 4 years with other partners in the project of clearing plant pests and replanting native trees on the Monika Lanham Reserve, which is a 40 hectare recreational reserve in the middle of Kawerau.
This year the school has received funding from the Environment Bay of Plenty’s Environmental Enhancement Fund. The money is being used for weedbusting and to develop an area of the reserve near to the school.
The children, teachers and families have been replanting cleared areas and removing weeds from around the plants. The school has been an enthusiastic partner in the programme."
