Weedy feelings

Learn to understand different points of view! Here is a list of people and the different ways they feel about blackberry. Take a card and act out the role to your class!

Sheep and cattle farmer

  • "Blackberry takes over my land and leaves my livestock with less grass to eat"

Berryfruit producer

  • "Blackberries are an important part of my livelihood - without blackberries, my business would be ruined"

Bird-lover

  • "Blackberry is a great source of food for the birds. I love watching the waxeyes and blackbirds in amongst blackberries"

City worker

  • "I love picking blackberries, fresh fruit is good for you. I love blackberry jam too!"

  • "The only good blackberry is dead blackberry - its really hard to get rid of"
